Digital Mini Disc
Demo
Price $130.00, Includes Full Instrumentation, Lead Male and Background
Vocals
The Mini Disc is intended as a replacement
for compact cassette tape. It's small design and light weight construction
has many advantages. It's sound quality is equal to or better than that
of the Compact Disc. The cost of the first generation
mini disc players made it to expensive and therefore not very popular with
home entertainment buyers. But now it's cost has dropped to the point that
puts it in the reach of most consumer electronic buyers. For this reason
along with many others EastCraft has elected to offer this media form to
it's clients. The mini disc offers a better dynamic range than cassette
which
gives the recording better impact and clarity. Being that the mini disc
is digital it has no inherent noise or hiss..... very clean. To compare
the best grade cassette tape to mini disc is to compare black and white
to color. The noise floor on a premium grade cassette is roughly about
60 to 70 db. Mini disc offers a noise floor of better than 100db. To put
this in to perspective, cassette tape with a 60db noise floor will offer
noise that is 1000 times lower than the strongest signal level present
on the tape. The mini disc with better than a 100db noise floor will offer
noise 100,000 times below the strongest signal level on the disc. That's
a noise decrease that is 100 times better than the best cassette tape.
This is not to mention the huge increase in dynamic range and much lower
distortion.
Since Mini Disc players have recently fell below the $200.00 mark and for the increase in sound quality, over cassette and it's ease of use, EastCraft recommends that you have your demo mastered on Compact Disc or Mini Disc instead of Cassette. You can then enjoy the full benefits of digital sound and can make cassette copies that sound as good as if they were being mastered straight from the multitrack.
